ServNet has announced the opening of its 2022 Scholarship Program to help ServNet auction employees and their families pursue the dream of higher education. The ServNet Scholarship program assists full-time and part-time ServNet auction employees, and the children, stepchildren and grandchildren of full-time employees who plan to pursue education in college or vocational school programs.

Up to 10 awards totaling $20,000 are available for aspiring undergraduate students for the 2022-2023 Academic year. The awards will be given in increments of five awards of $2,500 to students attending a four-year college or university, and five awards of $1,500 for students attending a two-year college or are pursuing an auto-related degree at a vocational-technical school.

Legacy of Service and Leadership Continues to Thrive at ServNet Auctions

Despite a year of uncertainty and change as the industry grappled with the pandemic and severe weather conditions, ServNet auctions continued to distinguish themselves, receiving accolades from the remarketing community for exemplary service and industry leadership. In assessing auction results for last year, national remarketers recognized ServNet auctions in both national and regional standings, with scores based on operations, customer service and retentions.

"As we surveyed the awards round-up for 2021, we were pleased to see how often ServNet auctions were recognized for excellence," said ServNet's president Chad Bailey. "In the face of unprecedented challenges, ServNet auctions were unwavering in service and performance for their customers and in leadership in the industry. As a group we face the new year with a shared determination to continue that legacy, offering the best auction experience for our customers."

ServNet Auctions Face New Year with Optimism and Determination to Serve

Message from ServNet’s President, Chad Bailey:

It seems hard to believe that 2021 has drawn to a close, and we look back on it as a year that unlike any other we have experienced, either professionally or personally. At this time last year, we were saying goodbye and good riddance to COVID, and felt reasonably certain that we would return to normalcy. But we soon learned that a return to normal was not yet to be, and volatility continues to define the marketplace. As auction owners we have grappled with internal challenges ranging from hiring and inflation to COVID, all the while working to serve our customers who themselves faced unprecedented market conditions, meet ever-changing technological hurdles and manage a critical shortage of vehicles. These obstacles remain in front of us as we face the new year, yet I am confident and excited for what 2022 brings our way.

Chad Bailey Takes Helm as President of ServNet

Following a planned transition in leadership for the ServNet auction group, Chad Bailey, owner of Akron and Value Auto Auctions, assumes the role of the group's President for the next two years. His move was confirmed by the ServNet auction owners at their business meeting in October.

"I am honored to serve as ServNet's President," said Bailey. "ServNet is an important part of the independent auction community and the industry as a whole, and it is my pleasure to represent the ServNet auction owners as we plan for the years ahead."

ServNet Owners Continue Legacy of Industry Service with NAAA Leadership

As leaders of some of the best independent auto auctions in the country, ServNet's auction owners are personally invested and involved in the daily operations and ongoing success of their businesses. In the lanes and on the block, on auction days and on the days in between, they manage operations to ensure the best results for buyers and sellers across the country. But for many of these owners, their work in the business of vehicle remarketing extends far beyond their own auction arenas. Many give their time and attention to their communities and the industry beyond.

As he steps into his role as President of the National Auto Auction Association for the 2021-2022 term, R. Charles Nichols, President of BSC America which operates Bel Air and Tallahassee Auto Auctions, continues a legacy of service that has been a hallmark of the owners of ServNet's independent auctions. He is joined on the NAAA executive team by Eric Autenrieth, of ServNet's Carolina and Indiana Auto Auctions, who serves as the association's Vice President.

Value Auto Auction Joins ServNet

ServNet has announced that a new auction has been added to its roster of the country's leading auto auction facilities. Value Auto Auction, in Crooksville, Ohio is the group's newest member.

Value Auto Auction was recently acquired by the Akron Auto Auction, which is headed by Chad Bailey, former President of the National Auto Auction Association and incoming President of ServNet. Bailey reports that following 48 years of success in Northeast Ohio, the Akron Auto Auction acquired Value Auto Auction with the goal of taking its successful blueprint and implementing that same roadmap in southeastern Ohio.

"We truly believe that this auction is a diamond in the rough, with a strong dealer base, a staff focused on exceptional customer service and exponential growth," said Bailey. "Value Auto Auction is not only a strong addition to our auction family but will prove a valuable contributor to ServNet's network of independent auctions."

ServNet Forges Partnership with Privacy4Cars

ServNet has announced a partnership with Privacy4Cars (P4C), a first-of-its-kind platform designed to erase Nonpublic Personal Information (NPI) from vehicles. Privacy4Cars' proprietary platform makes it possible to delete NPI from vehicles consigned at the auction, produce comprehensive compliance records which are fully integrated with AutoIMS, and mitigate associated liabilities of data related issues with a P4C limited liability warranty certification.

NPI is a rising compliance and reputation risk for the auto remarketing business, explains Robert Sullivan, ServNet's Administrative Director and Certified Corporate Compliance & Ethics Professional. "While many data security and privacy laws have been written by regulators with computers and phones in mind, the growing capabilities of vehicles to capture and store personal information makes them fall under those laws.

"We are very excited to offer yet another service to our customers that we feel is vital in today's environment," said Chad Bailey, President of Akron Auto Auction and ServNet's Vice President. "Knowing that a vehicle can capture a huge amount of personal information, including home addresses, garage codes, previous destinations, call logs, contacts, text messages and the like, we want to ensure that such information is safely and securely wiped clean from each vehicle, providing yet another level of customer and consumer satisfaction."

Mega-Sales at ServNet Add Heat to Summer Market

After nearly a year-and-a half of adjusting to the pandemic, ServNet Auctions are once again making a splash with the industry's biggest promotions. With temperatures on the rise and the summer market in full swing, the industry's most notable mega-sales once again set the bar for innovation and impact on the market. Bringing customers together for events ranging from anniversary sales and rock concerts to summer barbecues and the upcoming football season, ServNet Auctions are welcoming buyers and sellers to the biggest auction events in the country.

"Summer promotions at ServNet auctions have for years defined the season," says Bruce Beam, ServNet's President. "Last year's promotional activities were cut or severely curtailed as we grappled with COVID and the restrictions required for the safety of our customers and employees. But we're excited to see the return of the promotions this season. The variety, quality and creativity of these events are remarkable, and they have a tremendous impact on the marketplace. They bring customers together from all parts of the country for good times and prime opportunities for buying and selling in the auction lanes."

Chad Bailey Hailed as Remarketer of the Year

Chad Bailey, the President of Akron Auto Auction and Value Auto Auction in Akron, Ohio, has been named the 2021 Vehicle Remarketer of the Year. He was presented with the award during the Conference of Automotive Remarketing, held earlier this month in Las Vegas.

Bailey is a Past President of the National Automobile Auction Association, serving in that post from November 2018 to September 2019. He is currently ServNet's Vice President, and is slated to begin a two-year term as the group's President in October.

The remarketing honor is awarded jointly by CAR and conference host Bobit Business Media. Automotive Fleet Associate Publisher and Editor Mike Antich presented Bailey with the award.

The Remarketer of the Year award recognizes individuals in the remarketing industry for who actively share expertise and skills that advance the industry, encourage the use of best practices and innovations, participate in industry associations and groups, and mentor in the development of the next generation of remarketers.

ServNet Awards Scholarships to Aspiring Students

ServNet has announced the winners of its 2021 Scholarship Program. Nine scholarships are being awarded to aspiring students for the 2021-2022 academic year.

ServNet's scholarship program was established in 2016 as an ongoing initiative to help ServNet auction employees and their families pursue the dream of higher education. The ServNet Scholarship program assists ServNet auction employees, their children, stepchildren and grandchildren who plan to pursue education in college or vocational school programs.

"ServNet owners take a deep personal interest in our employees," explained Ryan Clark, owner of Greater Rockford Auto Auction and a member of ServNet's Board of Directors overseeing the Scholarship Program. "ServNet's Scholarship Program is both an important way to support the families who work so hard in our industry and to invest in our collective future, laying the groundwork for the next generation."

Clark reports that ServNet is presenting a total of $20,500 in scholarships for the 2021-2022 academic year. Two scholarships of $1,500 are going to students attending a two-year college, and seven scholarships of $2,500 are being awarded to students attending a four-year college or university.
